President's address – Chris Beer, President DCIBA 2018-19

I would like to give you a little bit of my background within bowling over the years.

I first started bowling in 1987 at South Molton B.C. in North Devon. I have played at various clubs outdoors and also North Devon I.B.C. and now Kingsley I.B.C. I had a period of 12 years not playing either indoors or outdoors, due to my work commitments. Now I am retired and have more time to put back something to bowls, so here I am.

I achieved my outdoor badge whilst playing as a Rock Park member around 1992, Indoors I played for the County under 40’s on several occasions and received my indoor badge around the same time.

In 2010 I came back and was later approached by a County Officer who asked if I would consider being President in the following years.

My current club Kingsley has supported me and gave the County their recommendation for which I am truly grateful and honoured.

I hope to fulfil my obligations as your President for the season of 2018/19 with great pride and enthusiasm. I wish you all the very best for the competitions and County challenges wherever you find yourself playing, enjoy and keep the spirit of the game close to your heart.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Beer
